Feb. 16: PNC Bank’s morning and afternoon events

Wednesday is PNC day for us. In the morning, we go to the PNC office near the Philadelphia airport to speak to several hundred employees about “Tasting Freedom” in a company-sponsored Black History event. What will make this appearance different is that we will joined by actor Robert Branch, who has been portraying Octavius Catto since last year in one-man appearances around town. In the afternoon, we will reprise our joint appearance at the bank’s main offices at 16th and Market Streets for an invited luncheon audience of about 100.

Video Introduction

We like to talk. Our publicist put us in front of a video camera, asked three questions and then crossed his fingers. We're probably a little too serious at the beginning, but we loosen up as the video goes on.

This broadside is eight feet high and was seen on windows in downtown Philadelphia in June, 1863, as black leaders called a meeting to convince black men to join the Union Army prior to Gettysburg.
